LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Voices of Hope held their Strike Out Sexual Assault event at Sun Valley Lanes for the 14th year in a row on Saturday.

The event was hosted by the nonprofit, with support from their many partners that include LPD and local schools.

The goal of the event is to raise awareness and funds for survivors of sexual assault, while also supporting Voices of Hope’s programs.

Voices of Hope is focused on providing services to those faced with crises of sexual assault and domestic violence, from a 24/7 hotline to a vast network of local partnerships.

One of their goals is simply raising awareness for the topic and making sure the conversation surrounding it stays active in the community.

“Survivors deserve to know that they’re not alone,” Natalie Roberts-Day. “They deserve to know there are people in our community that are working to end violence, and end abuse. They deserve to know that healthy relationships exist, and our community partnerships kind of underscore that.”
