Lloyds appoints head of climate risk oversight

Jennifer Simpson has been promoted to head of climate risk oversight at Lloyds. She has worked at the bank for more than two decades and was previously head of climate and ESG risk at the bank’s pensions arm, Scottish Widows.

AkademikerPension is recruiting a head of ESG. They will replace Troels Børrild, who this month stepped down after seven years in the role at the Danish pension fund.

Maryland’s State Pension and Retirement System has appointed Angelo Calvello, co-founder and chair of the board of Rosetta Analytics, and Douglas Lawrence, vice-chair of the trustee board at Climate Group, as chair and vice-chair of its climate advisory panel. The five-person panel is set to have its first meeting in mid-June.

Andrea Saldarriaga has joined the Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures as technical director. Its a secondment from her role as sustainability and ESG director at Barclays, which she has held for more than three years. Saldarriaga is an international lawyer and expert in business and human rights, and previously spent more than six years at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Melanie Bylov Jensen has left her role as senior associate at Sustainalytics to join SEB as a sustainable banking associate, Denmark. Jensen spent more than five years at the data provider. She was also a board member at Denmark’s sustainable investment forum Dansif for more than two years.

Orla Garvey, co-lead portfolio manager of Federated Hermes’ Sustainable Global Investment Grade Credit Fund, is leaving. Nachu Chockalingam, co-lead portfolio manager will continue to manage the fund as lead portfolio manager. Mark Dove, a credit portfolio manager in the fixed income team, will be appointed as co-portfolio manager on the fund.

Sofia Santarsiero has been promoted to head of responsible indexing at Amundi ETF and Indexing. She joined Amundi in 2020.

Thierry Philipponnat has left Finance Watch after 15 years, having founded the organisation and worked as chief economist. Philipponnat has held several key positions in sustainable finance, including chairing the financial regulator AMF’s climate and sustainable finance commission and as a member of the prudential regulator ACPR’s climate and sustainable finance commission. He was also on EFRAG’s sustainability reporting board for two years and a member of the European Commission’s first Platform on Sustainable Finance.

Andrea Palmer has left role as responsible investment lead, global real estate securities at PGGM to join the Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor Foundation as its inaugural CEO. She leaves the pension fund after joining in 2023 as chair of its climate and ESG risk working group. Palmer was also a product specialist, impact equities and bonds at Triodos Investment Management, and has held roles at the Global Real Estate Science and Benchmarking and LaSalle Investment Management.

ShareAction is recruiting two senior officers for environmental and social research. One of the roles will cover the banking standards, while the other will focus on the financial sector. The deadline for the first role is 9 June and 18 June for the second position.

The Principles for Responsible Investment is seeking a senior responsible investment ecosystems manager, UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organisation’s relationships with its UK-based signatories and stakeholders. The deadline for applications is 18 June.

Sacha Salmon has joined the French SIF’s engagement platform. He leaves Groupama Asset Management where he was an ESG analyst focusing on regulation and transition plans. Salmon was also a voting and governance analyst at La Banque Postale Asset Management prior to this.
