When JetBlue Airways launched transatlantic service in 2021, it entered one of the world’s most competitive aviation markets with an approach that stood apart from every other major US airline. Rather than relying on large widebody aircraft to connect major hubs across the North Atlantic, the carrier based its entire long-haul expansion strategy on a new generation of single-aisle Airbus aircraft capable of flying routes that previously required much larger jets.
