A passenger aboard a United Airlines flight from the Dominican Republic to New Jersey was detained after allegedly attacking a flight attendant and attempting to gain access to the cockpit during the aircraft’s arrival into Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) . The incident took place on United Airlines Flight 1837, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 9, on Saturday evening as the aircraft approached Newark following its international service from Puerto Plata. Authorities said the passenger was taken into custody after the aircraft landed safely, as reported by NBC News.
